A group of Beth Chai families were at Interfaith Works Womens Center in Rockville Sunday preparing and serving dinner for 35 residents. It was a wonderful opportunity for those of us who participated. We enjoyed being able to help contribute a warm meal and talk with many of the residents. And the children who came got a great lesson in the value of community service, and how enjoyable volunteering can be. The kids quickly embraced the spirit. One of them even played violin for the residents as they enjoyed their meal. Everyone we met at the shelter was warm and gracious. We look forward to returning with another meal soon.
