The children's school day begins at 9:30 a.m. with an all-school assembly, except on special event days as noted below. All classes are held at Burning Tree Elementary School, 7900 Beech Tree Road, Bethesda, MD.
Snow Cancellation Information:
Beth Chai Family School follows Montgomery County snow closing policy. To find out if school is open you can check the County’s website, or call 240-777-2706. Under some circumstances — for example, difficult conditions for teachers trying to get to the school — we may cancel, even though Montgomery County schools are still open. If that is the case, the room parents will notify the other families in the class, either by email or by phone (as previously arranged by them).

| 9/30 | School Sukkot Regular Classes_Some adult volunteers will be needed to help get the sukkah up in the morning. Everyone is asked to bring three or four cuttings of greenery from your yard for the roof. We also ask that you bring cloth (sheets, tablecloths, light bedspreads, etc.) for the walls, which are attached with clothes pins and returned at the end of the day. The students will create decorations in their classrooms. Donations of Indian corn, gourds and pumpkins are welcome. We will meet to sing some songs and hear a story under the sukkah towards the end of the day. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the sukkah directly following Sunday School. |
